The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) was established by Decree No. 48 of 29th December 1989 as a federal law enforcement agency to combat the growing demand for and trafficking of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, which had a negative impact on Nigeria’s international image in the 1980s.
The trafficking of illicit substances has now become an organized criminal activity that poses a threat to Nigeria’s security and development, and as such, requires immediate attention and priority from the government.
The agency is currently seeking qualified candidates to apply for the position of Assistant Superintendent of Narcotics I CONPASS (09) in either the Superintendent (General Duties or Specialists) cadre.
Applicants must meet certain requirements, such as
- Being of Nigerian origin,
- Possessing a National Identity Number (NIN),
- Being medically fit, and
- Not being less than 20 years or more than 35 years of age.
Applicants must also
- Be drug-free,
- Have good character, and
- Must not have been convicted of any criminal offence.
The application deadline is 17th April, 2023, and interested and qualified candidates can apply online.
Successful candidates will be subjected to further vetting forms and random illicit drug use tests throughout their service in the Agency. Shortlisted applicants will be invited for further examination and interview, and only one application is allowed.
Applicants are required to print out their online-generated photo-slip and download referee forms for completion by two reputable individuals when coming for the screening/interview.
